Senate hopeful releasing her defense plan

ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - One of the candidates seeking Tim Scott's seat in the U.S. Senate is releasing her plan for defense.

Jill Bossi, of Columbia, is the American Party candidate and is appearing at a forum on Sunday in Rock Hill where she will discuss what she calls Operation Strive. STRIVE stands for "Support Troop Readiness and Invest in Veterans Everywhere."

Bossi is one of four candidates in the race for Scott's seat. Scott, a Republican who was appointed to the Senate by Nikki Haley back in 2012, is seeking his first full term in Washington.

The others in the race are Democrat Joyce Dickerson and petition candidate Brandon Armstrong.
