CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- One amorous couple got a little carried away in their Valentine celebrations Thursday night.

According to a police report, a Charleston City police officer was on an off duty assignment in Marion Square for the Southeastern Wildlife Expo when he saw a couple having sex in the Agricultural tent.

The officer told the couple to knock it off and get dressed about three or four times according to the report but instead of doing so, the couple ran off giggling to another tent and continued their adult activities.

The report notes that both suspects were "unsteady on their feet and a smell of alcohol emanated from their persons."

When the officer followed them, the couple crawled out from under the other side of the tent and ran away. The officer said in the report he chased them down and managed to get a hold of their arms before the female got away with her dress still up around her waist.

The male, despite trying to fight police, was detained thanks to the help of a Francis Marion security guard and another CPD officer.

Bryan Joseph Williams, 19, is charged with trespassing, disobeying a lawful order, disorderly conduct, indecent exposure and resisting arrest.
