COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The likely Democratic opponent for Gov. Nikki Haley released his 2010 through 2012 tax returns and again challenged Haley to release more of hers.
Copies of state and federal tax returns provided to reporters Tuesday show Sen. Vincent Sheheen's total income last year was $224,920, while his taxable income was $198,218. That's about $85,000 less than in 2011.
Sheheen released 10 years of tax returns during his 2010 gubernatorial race.
Both Sheheen's and Haley's releases cover their years in office.
Haley let reporters view six years of returns in 2010 - three just before her primary runoff and three more after Sheheen's first challenge. Since taking office, she's made her returns available each spring. She has never allowed copies. She is expected to release her 2012 returns next week.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press.
