      Shopper gets holiday surprise

WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCIV) -- It was a holiday miracle a few weeks early.

Latashia Deas went to the mall Tuesday to buy some Christmas presents for her daughter. She left with some bottles of lotion and a new feeling.

"This has really uplifted my spirits for the holiday season. I just loved it. Thank you so much," Deas said.

The Citadel Mall participated in "Giving Tuesday,"{}a day filled with random acts of kindness. Employee Leigh Burnett{}surprised shoppers like Deas.

"It's about giving in general. When you think about the things you can do for people that don't come in a box with wrapping paper, that are just as meaningful," Burnett said.

Deas said she avoided Black Friday shopping so she could come at a quieter time, and it's a good thing she did.

"Thank you so much. I don't want to{}cry, but oh goodness, thank you so much. This has never happened to me before. So thank you," Deas said.

Then{}Deas got to spread some holiday cheer of her own.

"Now I can probably get someone else a gift with the money you guys saved me. I really appreciate it," she said.

She said she couldn't{}wait until Christmas to share what happened with her daughter.
