Shots fired near Rivers Ave shopping center

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Police are looking for a man they say tried to rob a truck driver on Rivers Avenue Thursday afternoon.

According to North Charleston police, the victim was inside his delivery truck behind the Teppanyki Supreme Buffet in the area of Rivers and Aviation avenues when a black male wearing a mask came up to him armed with a gun.

The victim told police the suspect took about $900 in cash and then fired into the truck before running off.

Police said the victim didn't speak English very well. They also said while shots were fired, no one was injured.

The gunman is described as a black male, wearing a black or dark burgundy shirt with pants of an unknown color. Police were told he was not wearing gloves at the time of the robbery and he left behind a black bag inside of the truck.
