SLED investigating St. Paul's Fire District
HOLLYWOOD, S.C. (WCIV) -- The State Law Enforcement Division is investigating the St. Paul's Fire District, officials confirmed Wednesday evening.
However, SLED spokesman Thom Berry did not have details on the focus of the investigation.
St. Paul's is the second largest fire protection district in the state and covers over 400 square miles in the southern and western corners of Charleston County, including the towns of Ravenel, Meggett and Hollywood, as well as Edisto Island.
The fire district employs 52 firefighters, 3 administrators, and nearly a dozen volunteers split between six districts.
