SPD: Driver slams car into Summerville bank

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Summerville Police responded to the BB&T on North Main Street after a woman lost control of her car and slammed into the building.

According to Captain Jon Rogers with SPD, the accident happened around 6 a.m.

Capt. Rogers said a woman was driving southbound on Main St. when she tried to make a turn too fast onto 9th St.

Her car left the roadway and hit the bank "causing major damage to the building," according to Rogers.

The driver was taken to the hospital and was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.
