ALVIN, S.C. (WCIV) - The body of June Guerry, the second of two missing girls from Moncks Corner, has been found.

Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury said they are "pretty confident" the body found in the woods around 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon is that of 22-year-old June Guerry. Officials said the body was found in a 12 to 15 foot deep dirt pit off Greenwood Drive in Alvin, and that{}it was a suspicious{}article of clothing{}that led to the discovery of the body.

"It was a shirt or a sweatshirt hanging up from a tree. Really like a sign for someone to come and investigate and find her," said Bill Salisbury, Berkeley County Coroner.

Investigators say the{}22-year-old missing mother was found because someone noticed something that just didn't look quite right.

"The gentlemen that found the shirt and found the body his family lived in the neighborhood and they told him about the{}two girls missing," Salisbury said. "He came down to visit a family Cemetery at the end of the road and noticed suspicious clothing, and knowing these girls were missing was able to find the body."

Officials said Guerry's body was found about 10 miles from her friend-- Dana Woods-- who died from gunshot wounds and was found in the Francis Marion forest near her burned car on Tuesday.

Dan Moon of the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office said the fact that the two girls were found so far apart is strange.

"Why were these{}two bodies found{}ten miles apart, we don't know, that will come out in the investigation," Dan Moon said.

Guerry's body was not buried but was found very close to the tree with the hanging sweatshirt.

"Criminals have been known to do something and want people to see what they did or find what they did," Moon said.

Moon said that there are no suspects at this time, but they are following a number of leads on the case.

"Now we focus on who did it and that is our main goal right now," Moon said.
