NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A ticket is not the only way people can see the Grammy-nominated Avett Brothers perform in the Lowcounty Thursday night.
The band is pairing up with Cheerwine for a Legendary Giveback concert.
A portion of Thursday's 8 p.m. concert will go to three national nonprofits, including MUSC's Children's Hospital.
People who are not attending the concert but still want to watch the concert can go online and pledge to volunteer hours. Then, they will be able to stream the concert for free.
This is the second year for the giveback concert. Last year, more than 11,000 from 17 different countries committed to volunteering in their local communities.
"Cheerwine is an independent, family-owned company that truly believes each of us can make a positive impact in our communities," said Tom Barbitta, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Cheerwine. "This event speaks to the love we have for our fans. It is therefore a 'giveback' to them as well, a way to say 'thank you.' The Avett Brothers are not just a great band, they are great people giving so much of themselves, thus allowing us to grow our contribution this year through the Legendary Giveback II."
