Student suspended for having a steak knife at school

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Dorchester District Two officials say a Rollings Middle School of the Arts student was suspended for having a steak knife in a bookbag.

According to the release sent Friday afternoon, the incident happened May 9 when Administrators found inappropriate items, including the steak knife, in astudent's book bag.

The student was suspended and officials say there were no safety issues or disruption to other students or to the school day.
