SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Summerville Police Department and the Summerville Municipal Court have announced a bench warrant amnesty program.
Bench warrants are generated if someone does not attend their court date or failed to complete time payments.
Starting October 16 and going through December 1, 2012, any person that has a bench warrant through the Summerville Municipal Court will not be arrested if they go to the court, located at 200 South Main Street, and pay their outstanding bench warrant.
Cash or money order payments can be made at the court between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
A list of people with bench warrants is posted on the Summerville Police Department website and will be removed at the end of the program. You can also find that list by clicking here.
This amnesty program does not include arrest warrants.
