      Summerville Subway restaurant robbed

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) - Police in Summerville are looking for the man who robbed a Subway restaurant Thursday night.

According to police, the employee at the store on Dorchester Road said a man entered the restaurant, pointed a gun at her and demanded money from the cash register.

After taking money from the register, the man tried to gain access to the safe but was unable to, police said. He fled the area with nearly $200 in cash, police said.

Witnesses described the man as wearing blue latex gloves and covering his face with a blue or black bandana. The suspect was last seen running behind the Chinese Express restaurant.

A K-9 unit tracked the robber to the Colonial Place Apartments where it lost the scent of the man, according to police.
