Suspect arrested in Norman Street assault, robbery
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Line Street man is in police custody following an armed robbery Monday in Charleston.
According to police, a man in his apartment on Norman Street answered a knock on his door around 11 p.m. and was met by three men who asked him to step outside. The man refused, and the three men grabbed him, forced him outside and punched and kicked him, a news release from the Charleston Police Department said.
Chez K. Hayward, 21, is charged with strong-armed robbery, first-degree burglary and second-degree assault and battery.
Money was taken from the victim of the assault, police said.
