      Teen dies in Saturday morning wreck

      WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) - A teen died early Saturday morning when his car struck multiple trees and caught fire.

      Highway Patrol Senior Trooper Bridget Wiant said the driver of the 2003 GMC pickup went off the right side of the Santee Road, overcorrected and crossed back over the road into trees.

      The accident happened around 1:10 a.m. Saturday.

      According to Wiant, there were three other passengers in the truck who were able to escape.{}

      The Williamsburg County Coroner identified the driver, 19-year-old Sidney Andrew Emerson, was trapped in the burning truck and died.

      Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
