Teen shot during drive-by in Walterboro

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCIV) -- An 18-year-old woman was wounded in a drive-by shooting Tuesday night in Walterboro.

According to officials, the 18-year-old victim was hit in the leg during a shooting on Savage Street. The woman was in stable condition and taken to Colleton Medical Center, officials said.

According to an incident report from Walterboro police, officers responded around 8:15 p.m. The victim said she heard her mother scream from the front porch. As the victim ran toward the front of the house, a round fired from a red Cadillac "passed through an exterior wall and screen door" and hit the victim in her lower right leg.

Witnesses told police the suspects fired several rounds before fleeing the scene.

Other than the car description, there is no information on suspects at this time.
