Theft of chips, bagel nets $125,000 bond for hungry suspect

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A man accused of breaking into at least two churches faced a bond court judge Thursday afternoon.

The break-ins occurred between April and June at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Mt. Horr AME Church, according to the affidavits.

On April 22 at St. Paul's, Charleston County Sheriff's deputies found that a window was broken and a bag of chips was stolen. On June 12, deputies responded to Mt. Horr for another broken window but this time it was a bagel that was missing.

Thomas Lee Duncan, 53, is charged with two counts of burglary in the second degree and property crime enhancement. His bond was set at $125,000 according to court records.
