BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) - Organizers of the Lt. Dan Band Concert with Gary Sinise say sales are slow for the Sept. 14 event in Charleston.
The Beaufort Gazette reports that Steve Danyluk, founder of the Independence Fund, says if sales don't pick up, the event might be called off.
Lt. Dan Weekend has been held in Beaufort in recent years but this year most of the events, which benefit wounded veterans, have been moved to Charleston. Sinise's band regularly plays during the weekend.
About 4,200 people bought tickets for last year's concert in Beaufort. Only about 400 have been sold for this year's concert at The Citadel's Johnson Hagood Stadium. Organizers hope to sell 20,000.
Lt. Dan is the character Sinise played in "Forrest Gump," part of which was filmed in Beaufort.
