Trident Medical Center ranked a top hospital for surgery
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Trident Medical Center was ranked one of the top Charleston hospitals in surgery safety by Consumer Reports.The rating was determined by looking at complications, length of hospital stays and mortality rates.The ratings include an overall surgery rating,as well as individual ratings for specific types of surgery: back surgery, hip replacement, knee replacement, angioplasty and carotid artery surgery. "We are extremely pleased to add another national recognition that highlights the level of patient care that our surgeons, anesthesiologists and entire surgical services team provide," Trident Medical Center was ranked as one of the top Charleston hospitals in surgery safety by Consumer Reports. "Patients deserve to be informed on which hospitals offer the highest level of quality care and patient safety."Bon Secours St. Francis Xavier Hospital also received a top rating.This is the first time Consumer Reports has rated U.S. hospitals on how patients fare during and after surgery.
