Trident United Way's 2-1-1 Hotline featured in Phone bank

      MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) - Every year the Trident United Way's 2-1-1 Hotline helps thousands of people.{} In a moment of need, panic or crisis they are there for you.

      Their volunteers know how to handle just about any situation, can offer advice, and point folks in the right direction no-matter how big the problem is.{} {}On Wednesday the hotline will be featured on the ABC News 4 Phone bank to recruit new help.{} As the organization grows so does their need for more call takers.{} They are looking for volunteers who are respectful, empathetic and dependable.{}

      Anyone interested must go through a training program before starting.{} The program covers general counseling skills, crisis intervention and strategies on how to handle calls. If you are interested, call 881-5837 between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to talk to the organization.{} If you can't call during the phone bank you can call two other numbers anytime. {}Those number are: (843) 744-HELP or 1-800-922-2283.
