Trio charged in Summerville burglary, shooting
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Three men were arrested and charged for their alleged connection to a Summerville burglary that left one person with a gunshot wound earlier this month.
According to Summerville police, DamienMarquise Stokes, TyrellJamar Miles, and BrandonMcNeil Brown were charged in the incident.
Stokes and Miles were charged with first-degree burglary. Miles' bond was set at $70,000 and Stokes' bond was denied.
In addition to first-degree burglary, Brown was also charged with attempted murder and with possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, police said. His bond was set at $150,000.
Officials added that Stokes was the person who had been shot.
At the scene of the incident, Rogers told ABCNews4 that as many as four people forced their way into a home on Myrtle Place. One person was shot in the incident, but due to conflicting reports, they are not sure who the person is.
Rogers said police do not know who fired the shots or where the injured person was hit. Reporter Christina Elmore said police found a man shot in the abdomen.
She also reports a person was shot with a Taser for running from police in the resulting manhunt, but that may have nothing to do with the shooting and home invasion.
Around 1:20 p.m. Summerville police released a statement to media saying they had responded to 100 Myrtle Place for a burglary in progress and were told a man had been shot and taken to the hospital.
The statement says witnesses told officers that two or four people with masks entered the residence.
