Units assist with early morning fire at KapStone Paper
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Firefighters from North Charleston responded to assist in-house firefighters at KapStone Paper and Packaging on Virginia Avenue in North Charleston early Friday. An official at Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch says assisting firefighters arrived at KapStone just before 2:30 a.m.As many as two units remained on scene as of 5:30 a.m.Officials have not yet said what started the fire. Dispatchers say KapStone maintains its own fire department and that units from the county were called in to assist them. NCFD officials said by the time they arrived, the Kapstone Fire Brigade had already contained the fire to the paper machine where it had started.Stay with ABC News 4 for more on this developing story.
