Valencia anchors the 6p.m. and 11p.m. newscasts Saturday and Sunday evenings. When she isn't behind the desk, Valencia is reporting on some the Lowcountry's top stories. {}{}

Valencia joined WCIV-TV in August of 2010. Before becoming weekend anchor, Valencia was a multi-media journalist. For nearly three years, Valencia shot and edited her own stories, while also producing and fill-in anchoring.{}

Before moving to Charleston, Valencia worked in New York City as a production assistant from Good Morning America and America This Morning. Prior to that, Valencia worked with the investigative unit at FOX 25 News in Boston, Massachusetts.

As a child, Valencia would say, "I want to do the news." But it wasn't until Valencia worked as a writer for PINK Magazine (a primarily web-based publication for career-oriented women) that she knew journalism was the perfect fit for an inquisitive, talkative, people-person like herself.

Valencia is a proud graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. She also earned a masters degree in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College in Boston.

When she isn't juggling scripts and a tripod, Valencia enjoys reading, great food, her family and friends.
