NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A supervisor with Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch confirms one person is being treated for a gun shot wound after a report of shots fired in North Charleston.
Officials say the reported shooting happened in the area of Accabee Road and South Allen Drive early Tuesday morning.
Dispatchers say officers were sent to the scene. They did not find any victims on the scene.
A man arrived at the hospital sometime afterward saying he had been shot in the leg. Officials could not say for sure that the man was involved in the reported shooting. According to police, the "alleged victim" said he was walking down South Allen Drive when two black sedans passed by exchanging gunfire.
Police said doctors did not find any bullet holes in the man's pants and only an abrasion on his leg.
