Vigil planned for brothers killed in accident

      HANAHAN, S.C. (WCIV) -- A candlelight vigil is planned to honor the lives of two brothers and former Hanahan High School students.

      According to officials with the school, the vigil is being organized by the student body and will be held at 8 p.m. on the track on campus.

      The teens, 19-year-old Matthew, and 17-year-old Kelvin Richardson died Sunday morning when their Jeep ran off the road and hit a tree in Berkeley County. Family friends tell us they were on their way to church at the time of the accident.

      The exact cause of this deadly crash remains under investigation by the state highway patrol.

      A press conference is also scheduled for earlier in the day.

      Coach David Pratt with Hanahan High School will answer questions and share comments regarding the Richardson brothers whom he coached{} in track and field during their time at the school.

      The press conference is being held with the Richardson family's blessing.

      Funeral arrangements have been made for 11 a.m. Saturday at{} Hanahan High School. A viewing is scheduled for Friday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Brine McNeal Senior Memorial Chapel located on Highway 17 North in Awendaw.
