CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Volunteers are needed to help clean up the area under the Ravenel Bridge and organizers say they should be prepared to get muddy!

The City of Charleston's Keep Charleston Beautiful and the Charleston Chapter of Surfrider Foundation are hosting a marsh cleanup on Wednesday, March 27.

The cleanup, scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., is open to the public as long as you're 17 or older.

Supplies, including trash bags, gloves, and pickup sticks, will be provided. It's suggested that volunteers wear long pants and close-toed shoes or boots.

Volunteers will meet in the City of Charleston parking lot on Cooper Street near East Bay Street.
