Volunteers needed for Saturday's Walk MS

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- The National MS Society will be featured in the ABC News 4 Volunteer Phonebank Wednesday evening. {}The program helps millions of people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis. The disease attacks the central nervous system and interrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between a person's brain and body. {}The MS Society addresses the challenges of those suffering from disease by funding research, creating change through advocacy, educating the public, and helping people with MS and their families move forward with their lives.{}During Wednesday's phonebank, the organization will be asking for volunteers to help out at a Walk MS event this Saturday in Charleston. The walk is between one to three miles at Hampton Park. {}Registration starts at 8 a.m. {}Those who volunteer will help set-up, hand out lunches and clean up when the race is over. If you would like more information, please call into ABC News 4 between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The number is 881-5837. If you can't get to the phone during that time, or want to call in before the show, there are two other lines open any time of the day.
