CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Vice President Joe Biden visited the Lowcountry on Tuesday, creating a short-lived traffic problem on I-526 and Savannah Highway.

The Federal Aviation Authority issued a Temporary Flight restriction for most of the afternoon. That restriction expired at 6 p.m., shortly after Biden made his way back to the airport.

He flew into Charleston International Airport/Charleston Air Force Base and a motorcade took him to the visitation/vigil for Peatsy Hollings at the McAlister Funeral Home on Savannah Highway.

He stayed briefly at the vigil and return to the airport before 6 p.m.

Before coming to Charleston, Biden attended the funeral for former U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, who died Sunday.
