Wando grad takes role in Super Bowl commercial, short film

WINTER PARK, Fla. (WCIV) --{}A Wando High School graduate introduced millions of people to her boyfriend, a returning soldier, during the Super Bowl Sunday night.

According to the Charleston County School District, Shannon Cantwell was a Wando student who was half of a featured couple in Budweiser's "Hero's Welcome" ad that aired during the Super Bowl.{}

The ad created an emotional buzz on social media and many consider it one of the best spots of the night.{}

According to the short film on YouTube, Cantwell was told by a friend about the VFW's contest to find a soldier's story to tell that would represent all soldiers stationed overseas. Cantwell thought her boyfriend, Lt. Chuck Nadd, would be perfect.{}

And so did the VFW and Budweiser.{}
