SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Army Wives actors came out to honor the Charleston Nine at a benefit held in Summerville on Saturday.
Actors Terry Serpico and Robert Burke greeted fans and signed Charleston Nine benefit shirts all in an effort to help raise funds for Phase two of the Charleston Nine Memorial, which is being built on Savannah Highway at the site of the old Sofa Super Store.
"What you have to be aware of is on the worst day of your life these are the guys that are going to come," Robert Burke said.
"The debt that we as a society owe to these men and women cant be underestimated so any chance you get to participate in an event to raise awareness and help raise funds is greatly appreciated and necessary," Terry Serpico said.
The five-year anniversary of the Sofa Super Store fire is on June 18th. ABC News 4 will air a special half-hour broadcast on that day starting at 7:30PM.
