WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCIV) -- A West Ashley man was taken to Medical University hospital after he was shot twice in the back Thursday morning.
According to a Charleston police report, officers responded to Balsam Street after receiving reports of a shooting. When they arrived, one person stepped out of the house to flag down the officers.
"Y'all need to get up in here. He's done been shot in the back," the woman reportedly told police.
In the home, they found a 23-year-old man with two gunshot wounds in his back. Officers performed first aid until an EMS crew arrived.
The victim was not able to give officers a description of the shooter, the report states.
Officers are still investigating the shooting.
