Wildlife and history day at Huntington Beach park
MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (AP) - History and wildlife are the focus of a special weekend at Huntington Beach State Park in Murrells Inlet.
The park is scheduled to host its annual wildlife and history day on Saturday.
The event features Camp Flintlock with a group of historical re-enactors who will play drum and fife music and give visitors a chance to write with ink and quill pens. They will provide a glimpse of colonial life in South Carolina.
Visitors will also be able to see various animals, displays of seashells and fossils and learn more about the history of the Grand Strand. Also on tap are classes in the basics of bird watching and a display of raptors from the South Carolina Center for Birds of Prey near Charleston.Copyright 2014 The Associated Press.
