Woman accused of cutting two employees at mental health center

WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCIV) -- A woman was arrested Monday evening after Charleston police officers say she swung a knife at two employees of a mental health facility where she was a patient.

According to a police report, police arrested 49-year-old Charlene Johnson, of Hollywood, and charged her with two counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

The report states one of the employees was cut across her left hand and arm. The other woman had injuries to her shoulder and shins.

After the incident, Johnson ran.

When police caught up with her, the report states, they handcuffed her and put her in the back of a patrol car. She made several statements, the report states, including: "I am the princess... I am the realtor, I am the wife of the president, and they are not giving me AIDS"

She also told officers that she was a queen and owned everything. Officers noted in the report that Johnson had a history of mental disease and had been dropped off at the facility for treatment.

She is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
