CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston Police responded to an apartment on William Kennerty Drive Sunday for reports of a fight that escalated into an arrest.According to the police report, 50-year-old Demetria Montgomery got into a fight with her ex-boyfriend for talking to other women on his cell phone.The victim told police that even though the couple had broken up 2-3 months ago, they were still living together.He told police that during the argument, he tried to pack his things and leave but that was when Montgomery got violent. He told officers she grabbed a 6-inch kitchen knife and cut him in the chest several times screaming "I'll cut myself if you leave me!"Police noted cuts to the victim's chest and hands.Montgomery told police that it was the victim who was the aggressor and accused him of kicking her in her crotch area. Officers made note of a bruise on her inner right thigh. She told police she grabbed the knife in self defense and "may have poked" the victim but "was not sure."EMS was called to the scene but both parties declined treatment since all of the injuries were minor.Montgomery was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
