NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A woman wounded in an early morning shooting managed to make her way to a nearby convenience store and call for help.

According to an incident report from North Charleston police, officers were called to a Sonoco station on Rivers Avenue after a woman said a friend had been shot in the leg.

The woman told officers she and her friends had left Club Showtime and were on Stall Road near Midland Park, making their way home, when people in a nearby car opened fire.

The wounded woman was taken to a nearby ambulance for treatment.

The women did not recognize the car, the report states, but one of the woman's friends said the wounded woman had been dancing with one man at the club when he pulled her away from him.

Police did not release any information on the suspect's car.
