GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCIV) -- A woman was arrested and charged with filing a false police report after investigators determined her reportedly stolen car had actually been involved in a hit-and-run.{}

According to police, 30-year-old Crystal Bridges reported her car stolen in the early morning hours of Dec. 3. She told officers that the car had been taken from the Beaver Bar on Highway 17 Business.

The car was entered into the National Crime Information Center where officials said Horry County deputies saw the information and called Georgetown County to let them know the car had been involved in a hit-and-run with an off-duty state trooper.

Georgetown County deputies met with Bridges and she was taken into custody. She is currently awaiting a bond hearing, deputies said.{}
