NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A North Charleston woman was charged with firing a gun Saturday morning during a dispute.
According to police, Josephine Washington was charged with pointing a firearm.
Police say they responded to a Rebecca Street address around 7 a.m. to calls of a verbal dispute. When they arrived, they found three black men involved in an argument and told them to leave.
After the officers sent the men away, they heard a woman say, "I'll give you a reason to leave." When the officer looked up, he reportedly saw Washington pointing a handgun at him.
The officer drew his weapon and fired one shot, hitting the building. Washington ran back inside, but came out after several minutes and surrendered to police.
She is being held in the Charleston County Detention Center.
