CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A woman was killed by an oncoming car as she was trying to cross Savannah Highway in downtown Charleston Tuesday night, officials said.
According to a police report, a man was driving south on the Crosstown shortly before midnight when a woman stepped into the roadway. She did not have the right of way at the time, police said.
The coroner's office identified the woman as 42-year-old Telma Duarte of Portugal.
Her cause of death was a result of the impact, the coroner's office said.
