NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A woman was shot and killed outside a popular North Charleston outlet mall late Monday night.

According to officials with the North Charleston Police Department, the shooting happened at the Tanger Outlets around 11 p.m.

Witnesses told police they heard a "pop" sound and saw a white man and white woman run from the scene. Police say the man and woman got into a dark SUV which was stopped at Hotel Road.

The woman was identified by the Charleston County Coroner's Office as 41-year-old Pamelia Gravely, of Myrtle Beach. She died at the scene, officials said.

North Charleston police said Tuesday afternoon that the victim had an escort ad on and was not at the outlet mall to do any shopping. She was a transient resident of an area motel, police said.

Police described the suspects as a white male, about 6-feet-tall, wearing a powder blue shirt and khaki pants, a white female in her early 20s and 5-feet-tall wearing a black or blue camisole and shorts. A third suspect, the driver of the SUV, was described as a white male in his late teens wearing a black hat.

Police did not say what triggered the killing. Officials did say there is no evidence the killing was random.
