Wozniacki advances after Petkovic withdraws

DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- Second seed Caroline Wozniacki has received a walkover to the next round after her competitor for Thursday, Andrea Petkovic, withdrew due to a right calf injury.

"I'm very happy that I came here - it is a very beautiful tournament and I loved every part of it here, so I hope to come back again under better conditions.{} I'm really sorry that I had to pull out but it was just too dangerous and I don't want to risk anything," Petkovic said her of decision.

As a result, Americans Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Madison Keys will move to Center Court for their 11 a.m. match.

Following their match, Serena Williams takes the court against fellow American Mallory Burdette. Venus Williams plays in the third Center Court match of the day.

Former champion Jelena Jankovic will play the second match of the day on the Althea Gibson court against American Jessica Pegula.

Samantha Stosur, who won Wednesday, will play under the lights -- weather permitting -- against Canadian Eugenie Bouchard, who has been playing some great tennis on the smaller courts. She stuck one out yesterday against a young Brit.
