Wreck on I-26 jams up rush hour for over 3 hours

      SC DOT cams showed the traffic build up behind the accident Tuesday morning.

      CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A three-car accident on I-26 east bound at Cosgrove Avenue snarled up traffic Tuesday morning.

      According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the wreck happened just before 7:30 a.m.

      An unmarked Crown Victoria and a KIA SUV were driving down the eastbound lanes when a third car, a Chevy SUV, hit the Kia. The Kia then hit the Crown Vic. Charges against the driver of the Chevy are pending.The driver of the Kia and the Chevy were both taken to the hospital. The driver of the Crown Victoria was uninjured.The accident shut down two lanes for about an hour and half but the build-up didn't clear until almost 10 a.m.{}{}
