Nikki Haley among "Most Admired Women" in U.S., according to recent Gallup poll
Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina Governor turned UN Ambassador under Donald Trump, is one of the most admired women in the U.S., a new survey finds.
A Gallup poll of a little more than 1,000 people places Nikki Haley 9th on a list of the 11 most admired American women, marking the first time the Bamberg County native has made the list.
Hillary Clinton (9 percent) and Michelle Obama (7 percent) topped the poll, ahead of Oprah, Rep. Elizabeth Warren, Germany’s Angela Merkel and Queen Elizabeth. Haley, Melania Trump, Condoleeza Rice, Beyonce and Kate Middleton each got about 1 percent of the vote.
Former President Barack Obama won “Most Admired Man,” over President Trump (17%-14%). Pope Francis, Rev. Billy Graham and Sen. John McCain rounded out the Top 5.
This year marks the 16th consecutive year Clinton has been the most admired woman, and 10th straight year Obama has now been named the most admired man, according to Gallup polls.
