CAS and Patriots Point join paws to increase adoptions
MT. PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- The USS Yorktown is going to the dogs, and you could jump in paws first with a year of free passes.
During Paws at the Point, the Charleston Animal Society will have pups available for adoption and any family who takes a fur-ever friend home will also get a free family pass to the museum for a year.
If your doghouse is already occupied, bring your dog on deck anyway to meet the USS Yorktown mascot, Scrappy. Any canine can bring along one human adult and one human child for free.
Paws at the Point is being held Saturday, April 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Working dogs who serve the community will also be saluted and dog performance demonstrations are scheduled. Citadel officials said Spike and General II from the military college will also be in attendance.
Leashes are required for all dogs but retractable leashes are not allowed. Click here for more information.
If you're in the market for a new dog, you can also take advantage of Charleston Animal Society's fee-waived adoptions, going on now through April 15. All adult dogs are available free of charge.
