      2 arrested on drug charges after Bluffton traffic stop

      BLUFFTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Two men were arrested Friday afternoon after officers stopped them for speeding.

      According to Bluffton police, James Hicks and Leonard Brown were in a speeding car on Buck Island Road around 4:45 p.m. Friday. Officers stopped the vehicle and saw Hicks shoving something down his pants.

      Police say a search revealed more than 180 pills of Oxycodone and Hydrocodone. He was arrested for trafficking a controlled substance and possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance.

      Officers did a background check on Brown and found that he had outstanding warrants for criminal domestic violence and malicious injury to property.

      Both men are being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
