Cocaine, heroin and meth found in home of man charged in deadly stabbing, officials say

A 31-year-old Goose Creek man is facing several charges after a stabbing that happened early Sunday morning in the Rutt Lane area.

Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury reports 59-year-old Bernard Reid of Goose Creek was transported to an area hospital after the incident and later died.

Charged with murder is Joseph McKoy Jr. Officials with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office say they found a large quantity of narcotics in his home upon the execution of a search warrant, and he also faces several drug charges.

Officials have not released details on how they have connected McKoy to Reid's death, but they say he has an extensive arrest history. Among his arrests, officials say, are narcotics, weapons and violent crimes charges dating back over a decade.
