CPD: 2 arrested for huffing computer duster

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston Police arrested two people at Mills House Inn on Meeting Street for allegedly huffing canisters of computer duster.

According to the report, an employee was tipped off by guests who were pointing in a window where the couple sat hunched over, laughing and breathing erratically.

When an officer arrived, he found Allen Holmes Jr. and Katherine Holmes sitting at a table. Allen Holmes had a bandaged wound on his forehead and was holding a 10-ounce can of duster close to his face.

After identifying the pair, the officer asked why they had the cans. Allen Holmes, pretending to lift the can to his mouth, told the officer they were "doing them. You know, like hitting them."

The two were arrested for use of aromatic hydrocarbons, and before being booked were taken to Roper Hospital due to involvement in an earlier accident.

The couple is scheduled to appear in bond court on Friday.
