Crews respond to meth lab, one taken to hospital

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston County emergency crews responded to a home off Highway 78 in Summerville for reports of an active meth lab Monday morning.

According to Charleston County EMS officials, one person was taken to the hospital.

Later in the day hazmat crews responded to clean up.

Charleston County Sheriff's Office officials say the lab was found in a home on Jandrell Street after their Metro Major Case Unit executed a search warrant. The following suspects were arrested.

  • Wilson Lee Russell, 45, of Ladson
  • John Glenn Knight II, 26, of St. Stephens
  • John Robert Williams, 38, of Moncks Corner
  • Haskell Childers, 36, of Goose Creek
  • Kunta Kinte McDonald, 37, of Summerville
  • Jennifer Marie Caudill, 40, of Ladson
  • Arcena Ann McFarland, 24, of Moncks Corner{}

All of the suspects are charged with first degree manufacturing and distributing crack and unlawful acts involving hazardous waste.
