Deputies: Man's masturbation addiction leads to indecent exposure charge

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Beaufort man with a self-described masturbation addiction was arrested on indecent exposure charges Wednesday.{}

According to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, 40-year-old Benjamin Griffin Jr. walked into the Memory Matters facility on William Hilton Parkway early Wednesday afternoon.{}

Memory Matters, according to the company's website, is a community-based nonprofit organization for people with Alzheimer's and dementia and their families. It provides daycare and support.

After being greeted by an employee, Griffin reportedly said he was battling a masturbation addiction and needed help.{}

The woman told Griffin to wait in the lobby while she found someone to help. While she was gone, a report states Griffin unzipped his pants and pulled out his penis.{}

When the woman returned, she saw what Griffin had allegedly done and called the sheriff's office.{}

He was charged with indecent exposure.{}
