GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCIV) -- Twenty-one people were arrested in a 36-hour period in Georgetown County this week as part of a joint effort to crack down on illegal drugs in the county.

According to Georgetown County deputies, the arrests came after a year-long investigation led by the 15th Circuit DEU with assistance from the DEA and the State Law Enforcement Division.

The focus of the sting, called Operation Beach Sweep, was the sale of heroin in Pawleys Island, deputies said.

Deputies executed a search warrant at a Green Drive home, which led to the arrest of 39-year-old Andiza Simmons and 35-year-old Melinda Green. Deputies seized more than $12,000 in cash, 67 grams of crack cocaine, heroin, and powder cocaine and marijuana packaged for sale.

Deputies also found a loaded .380-caliber handgun and two unloaded 9-millimeter handguns.

Deputies also arrested Christopher Douglas Brown, Elijah Antonio Brown, Reginald Horace Bryant Jr., Kenneth Canty, Darius O'Neil Dozier, Lamar Easterling, Jerry Faulk Jr., Quinton Stefon Ford, Vincent Anthony Keith, Marquis O'Brian Mickel, Wesley Scott Moore, Reggie Murray, Dremonde Richardson, Douglas Schultz, Kwamane Edward Smith, Steven Saxon Smith, Jacob Michael Walton, and Andrew Clifford West Jr.

Deputies say they are still looking for several other people and the investigation is ongoing.
