ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WCIV) -- Orangeburg County Sheriff's deputies arrested two men after a traffic stop resulted in finding drugs under the hood of their car.
According to OCSO officials, deputies were in the COrdova area when they saw a white Chevy swerving along Terrace Road. As they approached the vehicle, they reported smelling a "strong odor of marijuana."
The passenger of the car reportedly admitted to having pot in his pockets but the driver told deputies he didn't have any drugs.
A K9 officer named Gomo signaled he smelled something on the driver's side of the vehicle's hood. That's where deputies say they found a plastic container with marijuana inside and a plastic scale.
Edward Ervin Hamilton, 24, and 24-year-old Frederick Akeem Shuler were both charged with possession with intent to distribute. Each was given a $20,000 bond.
"We are working diligently to make this county safer and running drug dealers out of town is one way we can do that," said Sheriff Leroy Ravenell.
