CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The brother of a man who died after eating about an ounce of cocaine was sentenced in a plea deal.

Deangelo Mitchell was sentenced to 15 years on possession with intent to distribute cocaine. Five of those years will be served concurrent with an involuntary manslaughter sentence.

Mitchell was scheduled to go to trial Monday but decided to take a plea instead.

Mitchell was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of his brother Wayne Mitchell.

Police say Deangelo Mitchell pulled cocaine out of his butt and asked his brother, Wayne, to eat it.{}

According to police, Wayne is seen doing so on surveillance video and he died within the hour.

A white, powdery residue was observed in the seat where Wayne sat beside his brother.

Deangelo Mitchell told officers Wayne swallowed about an ounce of cocaine.
